In the late 1990's, I spent much time in Venice Beach, California. I became friends with many legendary Dogtown skaters and became fond of their stories.
I made this painting of the area where the Venice Dogtown skaters used to skate in the 1970's and 1980's.. Since I painted this, the area has been re-developed by the city of Los Angeles.

The painting was featured at a Venice art collectors home and was sold to a skateboard culture magazine publisher for a undisclosed sum :)
